In 2010 Gary and Karen were invited to travel to Uganda with Compassion Canada. They quickly added on a side trip into Rwanda to visit their adopted Rwandan son, Jackson’s home country and the orphanage that he grew up in.
As time has progressed, the realization of the challenges that young people face as they leave the orphanage and enter into the work force really took a hold of Gary and Karen. They began to search for their part in the big picture on what they can do. Through many conversations with many different people, a clearer picture began to unfold.
For more than 8 years with staff and partners in Rwanda and internationally, it has been our duty to focus on developing high-capacity, values-driven leaders, so that Rwandese youth can have a better advantage in life.
